Arriving aboard the “Mothership,” the godfather of funk, George Clinton will bring Parliament-Funkadelic to lower Manhattan to perform an intimate outdoor concert in New York City at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 27 at the Beekman Beer Garden.
Appropriately dubbed George Clinton’s 70th Birthday Funkabration, the show comes a mere five days after Clinton’s actual birthday of July 22. “Bow wow wow yippie yo yippie yay!”
George Clinton’s 70th Birthday Funkabration will be staged outdoors on the Beekman Beer Garden’s 200-ton sandy beach, with the iconic Brooklyn Bridge and East River as Clinton’s backdrop. However, if summer rain showers pop up, the show will go on, under the protection of the Beekman Beer Garden’s 10,000 square-foot beer garden tent.
