Saucy Lady Album Debut!!

by Kitty Savage

Boston’s Saucy Lady may be better known for her funk and soul DJ sets at clubs around the city, but what many are now discovering is that the tasteful digger has been working on an album of her own for the past year. Collaborating with producer U-Key, at a Newbury Street studio, Saucy Lady penned nearly all her tunes on the album, inspired by her rich collection of vinyl. Entitled Diversify, Saucy Lady likens the sound of her album to Patrice Rushen and the groove of Slave.

A standout song on the album features one of Boston’s finest funk-stars, JTronius, who recently released an animated music video for “SpaceCAdillacinmyCaliRide” and a mixtape with KLK Beats. Their track “Hang On” is a throwback to Ashford & Simpson’s song, but, as JTronius describes, “We slowed it down and put the sexy on it.” They damn well did put that sexy on. Hear irresistable samples of the beauty’s project on her website.  You can also see the video from the album’s first single “City Lights” here:
