Dawn speaks of her days growing up in Sacramento, 8-hour long daily practices with Sly Stone which led to groundbreaking gigs with Doctor John, Frank Zappa, Roy Ayers, BB King, Crystal Waters, and more, then a period of studio work in the early 90’s with Ice Cube, Snoop Dogg, Coolio, Del the Funky Homosapien, effectively having a strong hand in crafting the sound of the west coast g-funk genre. Dawn released a solo album independently in 2001 to great overseas success bringing her an invitation to headline Holland’s Northeast Jazz Festival, also opening for Tower Power, and being encouraged to start The Brides project back together. Dawn took the advice, and is now recording an album with several original members of P-Funk.
