Tell your friends about these amazing interviews flying under the radar and happening tomorrow evening! Here’s your chance to ask Sheila Gaye about working with The Commodores, or to tune in to hear Grammy winning vocalist Richard Street reminisce about leading The Temptations for several decades.
This announcement is reposted from Miss Michele Green:
“Join us TOMORROW NIGHT on THURSDAY, JULY 26, 2012 for LET’S TALK MUSIC With The1Essence as we interview legendary singer RICHARD STREET, formerly of THE TEMPTATIONS!
Richard Allen Street of Detroit, Michigan, is an American soul and R&B singer, most notable as a member of The Temptations from 1971 to 1993. Joe Williams of Facebook group The Basement announces:
“Please join us in The Basement FB Music group on July 26th, 2012 at 7pm est/3pm pst, for a Meet & Greet/Q&A Session with singer, songwriter, producer and arranger, Ms Shelia Gaye! Born in Dayton, Ohio “The Land of Funk”, Shelia Gaye began singing at the age of four, and by age ten, she was winning talent shows, and performing at other functions around the city. Shelia Gaye has performed with members of Lakeside, Slave, and Rock & Roll Hall of Famer, Walter “Junie” Morrison, of The Ohio Players and Parlament Funkadelic, as well as several other groups from Dayton.
She has written for the Grammy Award Winning Commodores, and has been a studio vocalist for many years. She once worked as A&R Director at World Records Studio in Las Vegas, Nevada, where she also sang background vocals for Gospel Singer Dwayne McCoy, and Blues Singer Clay Hammond.
With a “unique” vocal style (some call it “Old School-New School”), Shelia Gayetakes you on a harmonic, melodic journey, from the heart and soul of a woman.
Her early inspirations were the many, many groups from Dayton, Ohio (too many to name individually). Others who made an impact on her life were Gladys Knight, Luther Vandross, Aaliyah, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson, David Ruffin, Eddie EileeKendricks, and Mr. Marvin Gaye.”
I guess the big question is, which will you be tuning into?
